About

A warm, grounded approach to therapy

I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and change. Sometimes we just need the right support to find it.

Therapist at Oak and Elm Therapy
My story

I trained as a counsellor and hypnotherapist because I'm passionate about supporting people through times of difficulty.  Helping to gain a greater understanding of themselves and how experiences shape us going forwards.

I offer a genuine safe space, a non-judgemental presence, and practical support for real change. I've been working with adults, young people and families for over twenty years in various settings such as the NHS and mental health services.

I work with people from all walks of life —neuro diverse,  professionals under pressure, young people navigating  their identity, schooling and anxiety, parents struggling with the weight of it all, and people who simply feel stuck and aren't sure why. Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with warmth, honesty, and respect.

My approach

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every person is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. My practice is integrative — I draw on a range of evidence-based methods and adapt them to what I think will help you most.

Person-centred

You are the expert on your own life. My role is to create the conditions in which you can explore, understand, and grow — not to tell you what to do or how to feel.

Collaborative

We work together. I'll share my observations and suggestions, and I'll always invite your feedback. Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership.

Practical

Insight is valuable, but change matters more. I aim to help you leave sessions with something useful — a new perspective, a tool, or simply a clearer sense of what you want.

Creative

Use creative activities as another source of exploration to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences.  Beneficial to understanding ourselves and for visual clients.
